FAQ

  • In Ayurveda, we are not what we eat, but what we digest. The nutrients that actually nourish us must first be broken down into their molecular constituent parts and then be transported across the gut lining into the blood stream. There are so many modern interruptions to this process. We can't utilize our nutrients unless they are in the right form, in the right place at the right time.

IV Therapy allows for 100% bioavailability of every nutrient given directly into the blood stream. There is no cell farther than ~100 µm away from a blood vessel in the body. For reference, this is one-thousandth of a millimeter; a human hair is between 20-200 µm. IV Therapy gets useable nutrients directly to your cell's door.

    • Amino acids either individually or in combinations. These are proteins used by the body as co-factors and building blocks. Some are essential, meaning the body must get them from the diet and some are non-essential, meaning the body can make them internally.

    • Peptides are short strings of amino acid proteins with distinct bioactive effects. Some of the more familiar peptides are glutathione which is a powerful antioxidant and ALA (alpha lipoic acid) which can support peripheral nerves. We also offer more unique peptides like Cerebrolysin which is a collection of neurotrophic factors to support neuroinflammation and degenerative states.

Our Lunar Room is dimmer, more quiet for focused, internal relaxation. In each room, we have options for heated massage zero gravity chairs, big cushy recliners and a variety of other comfy seat styles. We also have a few desks if you'd like to be upright and/or need to work while you receive your treatment. We ask that you not conduct verbal meetings while in our public spaces.

    2. Our nurse will check you in and get your vital signs to ensure IV Therapy is safe for you today.

    3. If this is your first time (or first time in the last 6 - 12 months), you'll have a 5-10 minute consult with one of our clinicians for medical clearance. You are always welcome to request a short consultation if you have questions about which IV therapy is best for you today.

    4. The nurse will mix up your recipe (or have it ready for you if we've discussed and decided ahead of time at a previous IV Therapy visit) and then place the IV and get it going. IV Therapy may last anywhere from 15-75 minutes depending on the service and the rate of administration your body prefers.

    5. At the end of your treatment, the IV will be removed and you're free to go! Item description

    1. Modern 'food' often contains multiple non-food ingredients like dyes and preservatives to extend shelf life. These unfamiliar structures can trigger inflammation as the body tries to figure out how to handle them. Sometimes, like in the case of trans-fats, the body just uses them in place of normal fats building cell walls that then can't function correctly. Sometimes, like with food dyes, there is resounding inflammation and then the priority is no longer digestion but alarming to intruders. Hormones or antibiotics in meats may give our intestine cellular signals that also interrupt proper digestion. There is no digestion needed with IV Therapy. Every nutrient, vitamin, mineral, amino acid or protein is given in its elemental form, ready for cellular uptake and use.

    2. The gut lining is very complex and typically tough enough to handle the occasional swallowed Lego in childhood, but also holds 70% of our immune system and makes 90% of our serotonin, the neurotransmitter of contentment. Intestines are a living organ and respond to the perceptions of the mind. When we stress out for any reason (meaning real or perceived like watching a horror movie), a fight/flight/freeze sympathetic state may result. This can shut down our digestion while our body prepares for an emergency. If we keep bringing food into our digestive system when it's not online, food can ferment, back up resulting in reflux and ultimately may incorrectly breakdown, process food, absorb nutrients and eliminate waste. Even the perfect diet can result in a nutrient deficient state if the gut lining functions like a confused gatekeeper. There is no gatekeeper with IV nutrients; it's 100% absorption every time.

    3. The microbiome is the billions of organisms that live in us and on us. We want them there. We actually need them there. We've evolved for hundreds of thousands of years in a very alive soup of organisms and it is our symbiosis that makes us who we are. There is evidence now that even our placenta carries its own microbiome. We pick up our first flora at birth- either lactobacillus if born vaginally or mainly skin flora if delivered via C-section. The importance of the microbiome can't be overstated (and it hasn't in recent media years!). Our microbiome helps us digest our food, and in some cases even produces our vitamins, like vitamin K. The foods we eat and our stress levels change our microbiome. The microbiome is just as flexible as our intestinal structure. In our modern times, littered with antibiotics (sometimes just from the meat we are eating), our microbiome might not be at the top of its game. IV Therapy bypasses this whole congregation of influences. There's no discussion about what should go where and when. The nutrients just come into the system.
